Oil is special, it's not kitchen or diesel version  More expensive one's are made for fluorescence and high resolution microscopy. Type A should be good for you. While LDF is superior in every aspect, but much more expensive and you wont notice it's traits. Avoid FF type. Probably just search ...

Subjects respond VERY well to sharpening and "dehaze" feature of CameraRAW. Here are 100% crops from bio parts, that were optimally (usually heavy) processed with those techniques. Reason why bio is problematic with epi TTL is because it's partially reflective and partially transmitting. Why we usua...

Indeed, things look better with higher magnifications, but i have a different theory behind why it's like that. Here's comparision with ...

Episcopic TTL microscopy compared Bio vs Industrial
First of all - images are very soft. Magnifications tend to be higher, while NA's tend to be smaller than bio objectives. But working distances are longer Test subjects are: Bio - semi transparent, semi reflective - Pinus leaf. Industrial - completly opaque - coin. Now results: 1) Darkfield (Top row...

So how will you sync light shutter with DSLR shutter? For Zeiss Axio and Nikon HMX lamphouses, it's possible to connect multiple light sources to single collector. Probably Olympus and other brands also offer similar solution. It might be less expensive than attempt to adapt motorized shutter. My pe...
