Hi there!

Thanks. I have been trying to think of different things to shoot to get my
head around this macro/micro world.

It is amazing to see the small world.

Steel Wool

Hi Gang

Here is some steel wool. No wonder why it makes a good "buffing"
tool for wood working!

Hey, ABPHO

I have the "Binford 2000" (a reference to Tool Time").
It is actually a Fellows Continuous Duty cross-cut, as I was
tired of the cheap ones having "thermal issues" and shutting down.

Can't cut the nickels? Get out of the game!!

Hi Abpho!

You should have heard my shredder. I thought it was going to explode.
It punctured the nickel.

currency watermark and hologram

Hi gang A followup to my currency posting. I back lit the subject and it revealed the watermark and holographic data. First, the Franklin watermark, second, the holographic blue liberty bell, and third, the note denomination. http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/userpix/3815_DSC_6109_1.jpg http://w...

Shredder vs Nickel

Hi Gang!

A while back, my continuous duty shredder encountered a nickel.
I am glad to say the shredder did not sustain any injuries, but as
for Jefferson, he was impaled and paper was somewhat fused into
the metal.

Hi Rik

Thanks for the pointers. Edges can be a problem.

Just trying to do some shooting while I have some time
before I go back to work (yuck).

OK, I think I see what you were talking about. Yes, I did miss a few
edges.

Hi Rik

I wanted to know what the metal curlies are when you drill a hole
and the metal remnants "swirl" up the drill bit. I found the term swarf
that references these items.

So, I believe it is flare but I will re-check. The PMAX stack did pretty well.

Currency close up

Hi Gang Taking a close look at details on a hundred note. Some views at 2 and 5X. The micro print is amazing. Also, the holographic effect could not be captured, at least I could not. Hi Abpho!! Thanks. I am playing with my vertical rig, where I put my subject stage on my stackshot and keep my camera still. I really like the way it all works now, and I can keep light mods on the stage (the stage is 10 inches square) and let them "go for a ride" with the subject. Trying to get the...
