Re: Onion

Very interesting article from Quekett (thanks to jmp from Microbehunter), which confirms some my findings. It will answer John's (Dolmadis) question also. Cut my acrylic plate using blade saw and designed new fixture. Appears it was wasted time and efforts - 12mm thick plate was too thick - trying t...

Thanks for the additional info!

So, one stressed plate below the condenser, and the other above the objective?

Re: Onion

Saul, the Sanderson prism stuff is totally new to me. I've had a quick read through the paper you referenced, but I have to confess that I'm still unclear on how to adapt the technique for use with macro/micro optics. Can you provide some more information about that? What did you have to do, to mak...

Re: Dimmable LED/flash microscope illuminator

LED version only, but can be upgraded to the direct flash plus LED version also. Picture shows simple heatsink, but unit can be used with much more powerful LEDs using bigger heatsinks.

Re: Dimmable LED/flash microscope illuminator

Finalized version with heatsink which can handle approx. 22w (continuous duty). This design allows to use more powerful LEDs also (there is no heat stress on the 3D printed body) with bigger heatsink (or adding additional surfaces to the existing one (big plus of the T-Slot extrusion)). That all all...

Re: Even DF illumination for 4x objective

Anyone got any advice on how to get great DF on a 4X objective that evenly illuminates the whole field? I have a Nikon Optiphot, but I have heard that some Olympus condensers are easy to adapt to the Nikon dovetail for the substage condenser, and that the olympus condensers have a filter tray for a...

No need to know the algorithms. Just stack the same image with Zerene and Photoshop. I'll guarantee the Zerene image will have fewer artifacts :D
Maybe Rik will explain this - I have better luck with PS stacking transparent crystals.

Re: Zeiss / Motic condenser

Another interesting piece - Optico BM2000 condenser.
Looks like a mix of the Nikon Alpha (top) and Eclipse (bottom) parts. What is interesting, it fitted Eclipse DF conversion insert , just I had to make it little bit shorter.
Is this again some Chinese creation or it is something rebranded ?
