Re: Ground Pod for mushrroms and alikes...
For Mushroms I would say best thing is a bag full of seeds (rice, corn, etc) Easy to place the camera on top very close to the ground and acts short of ballhead. Is what Alex Alonso uses, I also recommend his books on lighting/framing. https://www.afac.es/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/43628289_19239490...

Re: Zerene projects take long time to save (huge size)
The issue was the slabing saving the files, everything works now as it should; if I save the project after the first stack then saving a project with multiple slabs is almost instant again.
I was going a bit nuts looking into preferences trying to find what was wrong..

Re: Zerene projects take long time to save (huge size)
Hi Rik, I opened a thread here rather than contacting you directly so the information was available here for future reference. I am not using Lightroom so that was not the problem, I normaly work with 16bit TIFF files generated from camera raw. For a 360 image project with 24mpx A7 that is 39GB Afte...

Zerene projects take long time to save (huge size)
Hi,
I do not know if I am missing something but Zerene projects are taking very long (10min+) to save, with huge siuze (40Gb +)
I am pretty sure it is because it is saving the individual files or something, must be something I am missing in the menu to change this behaviour
Javier

Re: Any good 300mm tube lens recomendations?
I was looking around using the Lens Finder on Surplus Shed and this came up in a search for something else. 285mm though. Sorry, I missed this one. Seems a bit narrow to, I am not sure if that would cover FF but at that price point may be worth trying. The Raynox seems like a solid option. I am goi...

Re: Playing with the Nikon BD Plan Apo 40/0.80
It does look promissing but I could not test it properly yet. I plan to use it on the microscope with other BD plans.I am going to be away for a couple of months, so that will have to wait

Re: Too much diffusion...
More than light diffusion it could also be using to many light sources with same intensity. If you use only on light source you will not have this problem.
I normally use two lights ( sometimes three)and use different output settings

That raynox seems like a very good option, a bit expensive for a close-up lens though. I wish I could try one before buying

Re: Playing with the Nikon BD Plan Apo 40/0.80
To unscrew those bd plans I normally use a couple of drops of acetone and then use a couple of car oil filter grab tools. So far I managed to open all , including this one and infinite BD plans but it is true that some give a hard time

Re: Cheap New Mitutoyo M Plan 5X
That price for a new mitutoyo 5/0.14 seems like a bargain. However I see some of their pictures show old Mitutoyos, which I would not recommend buying.
If in doubt I would always ask for more pictures showing the S/N

Re: Canon MP 35mm and/or Minolta 5400
Well, sometimes depending on the framing edges may be important. Anyway, I guess that canon may perfor pretty well from 3 to 6X. I would pair it with a longer lens for smaller magnification. I do not know if canon made a 50 or 80 mm bellow lens. I had some of the olympus OM bellows macro lenses and ...
