Completely moved now. I can squeeze my way into the room to touch the macro table... just. At least I [think] know where all of my macro stuff is. That was all packed into a tub and a rolling cart. It'll be weeks or months before I can unpack enough stuff to start work again. I don't have enough boo...

- I don't see adequate diffusion. Even with no vibrations, the images might not be that great. This is definitely a HUGE issue. Until I got a good handle on diffusion, I got mediocre results at best, even at relatively low magnifications. It takes a lot of trial and error, especially for a beginner...

I used the Pentax bellows and was pretty happy with the results. I got a pretty good deal on mine a few years ago (eBay, don't remember the price). I use mine with the Amscope 4x (good results) and 10x (mediocre so far) finite objectives. I don't think I have, but I should be able to use my old Vivi...

Glad you're getting settled. The trees will look better soon. Is that Cleveland off in the distance? Sure is. It never gets much clearer from this distance, but still an interesting view. The movers are bringing in the big stuff right now. This time the table's going to have a room of its own. I've...

Looks like a great location (except maybe traffic induced vibration) with lots of access within walking distance. Good luck and stay safe. Best, Thanks. The floors seem pretty solid, much more so than the old place. On the plus side, I can practically throw a rock and hit a used book store and Harb...

Books came out to at least 50+ boxes. Boxing up shooting stuff now. Boxed up seldom worn clothes.

Looks like it was just a couple of car lengths away from you.. Hope you get a place to settle soon. I imagine your landlord will have a list of displaced people to answer, including those who lost everything. Not fun - keep us informed how it goes? Pretty much. It wasn't EXTREMELY close, but the he...

Update: I just got a phone call from the landlord. I have to move ASAP. The construction company that's rebuilding the destroyed units won't allow occupancy during construction, so EVERYBODY has to move. Don't know where I'm going or when and have TONS of books to move, so no photography of ANY kind...

Looks like I'm moving back in today. I go to pick up the keys in a couple of hours. The living room window is now a sliding bathroom window in a sheet of plywood. At one point I was supposed to move across the hall, but they gave it to one of the tenants who got burned completely out. That wouldn't ...

They finally boarded up the living room window, so I'm in here throwing out stuff so that the fire marshal can clear the place for occupancy. Fortunately, I've been cleaning up for a couple of months (only about a day and a half a week to do it due to work) and most of the junk was already boxed up.

Deanimator, Wow, that was certainly a wicked fire!! Thankful, you and others weren't injured. Best, For some bizarre reason, one of the tenants didn't come out the first time the building was cleared. Somebody who knew him noticed his absence and sent the firemen back in after him. His apartment mi...
