On the LEE website the demonstrations seem to suggest that the sheets are very thin and therefore difficult to build a stable cylinder. Is the thickness of the sheet an option when buying the product? Thanks in advance, Carlos Magno Hello Carlos, These filters bend easily as flat sheets, but form v...

Re: hidden gem...

Thats the WA 35mm I assume, not the 30mm enlarger lens? The enlarger lens had serious CA issues. @dmillard: I think you use(d) this Minolta MD 2.8/35 mm SLR lens, latest Series is MD-III http://www.artaphot.ch/minolta-sr/objektive/150-minolta-35mm-f28 http://artaphot.ch/images/Technik/Sony_E_Full_F...

+/- 20% strikes me as a narrow range, particularly for a lens with a modest aperture. It makes one wonder which optimization SK care about most. Perhaps it's distortion? I guess it would be necessary to look very critically, at the rated mag. Qioptiq's Inspec.x L 5.6/105 line-scan lenses have simil...

Well, for anybody that missed out on the Makro-Symmar, I will be posting one for sale very soon! :) As Robert previously said, usedparts-semifa is one of the best. I ordered the lens Thursday, and received it this morning before 9:00 am, extremely well-packed. I then quickly tested it against the Ma...

In 2012 I posted that I have a 35mm f/2.0 Mid 1977 (looks much like the one above) 28mm f/2.0 Approx 1943 (looks older!) That's interesting Chris. I just looked in Kingslake's History of the Photographic Lens , and according to him, the Schneider Xenon is an unsymmetrical six element double-Gauss l...

Thanks again for sharing the performance of this lens combo! From Schneider's data at https://www.schneideroptics.com/info/age_of_lenses/ , your particular 28mm & 35mm Xenons were produced in 1995 and 1996 respectively, but Schneider doesn't provide information about how long and how many of either ...

I use a variety of Lee filters, primarily as cylinders on my Mitutoyo and Olympus objectives. I often combine them with an inner layer of 214 Tough Spun to further cut interior reflections, or selectively mask them with black cardstock. Like Harald, I have found them to be very color neutral, but I ...

A quick test of the 7.5X with an Apo-Symmar 135mm f/5.6 shows that it easily covers the full frame of a Sony A7Rii at 4.91X. I think the darkened corners seen here may result from mechanical vignetting somewhere else in my system (the lens aperture, PB-6 bellows, or the Nikon-Sony adapter), rather t...
