Tomorrow's flowers today

Spring has sprung, fall has fell.
Some in the garden are still looking well.

Thanks Rik, I think my Photoshop Elements is too simple for your suggestions and my abilities are quite basic. I followed your prompt and Photoshop said I had RGB. After that nothing else matched so I deleted my first two attempts and tried again. This time I first applied the unsharpen and then re-...

Thanks for the compliments and encouragement Rik. I did the applications you suggested. One thing I noticed as I looked again at the photo was the fading of the colors from the original. From my camera the photo goes to iPhoto (a holding folder for me) and then to Photoshop for resizing. I did not d...

Butterflys love this stuff

Although there are no butterflies here, they really enjoy this plant's flowers.
It's not too late for the butterfly so I may get a lucky shot. :D Gary

Dinner time in the goldenrod patch

Inspired by all the great photos on this forum and the helpful advice from everyone I staged a daring midnight commando raid and rescued my faithful a100 from my daughter's camera bag. 8) All the photos were taken using a Tamron 90mm macro and my Sony a100. The photo of the spider was cropped consid...

Thanks gp and g4.

I really have my work cut out for me. It's a good thing I have 2 month to prepare.

If there are other ideas/suggestions out there please share. I will compile some sort of list as things progress.

Thanks Dave and Larry. My tag says it all..."it takes a thousand words to explain a pixel". I read the reviews of the various bodies and it looks like all three are winners in the opinions of those who responded. The thing I have to decide, as do we all, is where the feature/cost balance is best for...

A request for activities for students and teachers

Hi all, I'm not sure that this is the right place to post this request, but I would like your help. I'm going to be giving a presentation to high/middle/elementary school science teachers soon and would like to have some suggestions for activities that you find interesting and fun. This program will...

Those are very nice photos Graham. Isn't in fun to take the youngsters to the beach and watch them discover so many things.

Research and a web site

Hello everyone, I'm doing my homework in the purchase of a new camera (my daughter kidnapped my beloved a100) and I stumbled across this site. /www.imaging-resource.com It has all sorts of reviews and referals and is easy for someone like me, with limited experience, to understand. I'm between the S...

Hello all,

I don't know what is appropriate for this forum regarding available equipment for sale so if there are guidelines I could follow please direct me.

I have what is being asked for and can be contacted by personal email.

As always, thanks.

Thanks Jim,

There is a crowd of similar creatures hanging around my garden shed. They seem to be a little more agressive than the one I was able to get a picture of recently. Maybe I'll try a telephoto lens rather than the macro lens. Keep up the good work.

The wasp and the photographer

I saw this wasp taking a drink in the garden and thought "what an opportunity for a photo". http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/userpix/454_wasp_1.jpg Then I thought "why don't I get a little closer". This is the photo of me being stung. http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/userpix/454_wasp2_1.jp...

Thanks Cyclops, etal. for the comments. As you may have guessed, I'm not much on spiders. The zig zag part of the web puzzled me. What is it's importance/significance/function?
