Hi Chris, hi kaleun96, Does the AccelStepper support the TMC5130 & SPI ? BR, ADi It doesn't support stepping via SPI but it can work with it using STEP/DIR pins. I did look at what it would take to change the library so it supports SPI or port manipulation and I don't think it would be a lot of wor...

If this is the case, are you using the AccelStepper library at all? While AccelStepper is the go-to recommendation for stepper motor control among the Arduino community, I found AccelStepper buggy in the extreme--perfectly capable of causing weird behaviors such as you describe. After trying AccelS...

May I ask what's an idler in this case? I've seen them for V-Slot rails where it's used with a timing belt but I can't see references to one for a generic linear actuator with a ball screw. Looks like an interesting rig though, a very useful platform to improve upon. Looking forward to seeing how i...

Any ideas? I'm not a Swedish, nor European, native so I'm clueless when it comes to identifying species here!

Fruit Fly at 7x

I believe this is a fruit fly, perhaps Drosophila obscura. The magnification range needed for the ideal framing was just out of reach. I'm pretty covered for around 5X and below or 8X and above but this needed something a bit in-between. I ended up using an Olympus 26.2 f3.1 reversed on the Redrock ...

kaleun96, The TMC5130 internal micro-controller changes the microsteps on the fly based upon what the demand motor speed is. Speeds over 600rpm are capable with the good motor, light load, proper motor parameters and good power supply & decoupling. Check the videos I did on these, recall doing 1000...

Hello everybody, I have moved the IR from the Pin2 to the A1 and used Pin2 for the DRV_ENN. The first test with 256 micro-steps: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1B5oN9JdDVH1j3z_JXNLNQAS3cORF35Fh BR, ADi Nice! I'm surprised you have it running so fast with 256 microsteps. If you try and stop it fro...

Hello everybody, Does anybody know if I can use the analog pins 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 as outputs if the analog pin 0 is already used as an input pin for the keypad-shield? https://www.arduino.cc/en/Tutorial/AnalogInputPins A0 = Pin 14 A1 = Pin 15 A2 = Pin 16 A3 = Pin 17 A4 = Pin 18 A5 = Pin 19 BR, ADi Shou...

Hello Kaleun96, Unfortunately only green marked pins are free :-( The remaining digital pins are used by the keypad-shield. The pin 10 too, so that I have to use pin3 for SS / CSN. BR, ADi Ah, of course! Forgot about the keypad and LCD display haha. Have you thought about using a Mega instead? Most...

Hello everybody, Unfortunately UNO doesn’t have enough digital outputs :-( You should have enough digital pins, no? Four (10,11,12,13) for the SPI configuration, 3 for IR diode, relay, and flash, and then many more left over. Unless you haven't shown all components. I'm not sure about that LCD shie...

I'm envious of the setup! Compact, portable, clean...what's not to like! You've inspired me to try out V-Slot as well. I love how they have 3D models of everything so you can put it all together in SketchUp or similar to make sure everything lines up. One thing I noticed is the horrible hole spacing...

Nice to see it come to life! A shame about the part mix up on the order, did you prefer to tap 48 holes rather than send it back and wait for new parts? I wonder if there would be any value in filling the hollow aluminium with a dampening material like sand. Just thinking of a stepper motor + hollow...

Is that the Redrockmicro 5X Macro, used as a tube lens? If, so how does it perform? Best, Yup that's the one. I haven't done any extensive testing with it but it seems to work well as both a tube lens and in a stacked setup (with another reversed on the front of it). It definitely has a lot of prom...

I think this will do the trick .. found some bits of "L" shaped aluminum in the shed (4,5 cm x 2,5 cm). I will cut and drill something like this (green) https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48212168611_f9195a78ce_b.jpg Screenshot 2019-07-04 at 20.47.05 by antonio caseiro , on Flickr Nice! I think th...
