Re: Scales thread

Thank you, Adi, sure, long WD is always an advantage, regardless of subject's flatness. High-NA, short-WD objectives are fun to play with, but kinda pain in the rear to use... This is with TU Plan 100/0.80 ELWD + 105mm tube lens at 52.5X on sensor. Stack was shot with continuous lighting and traffi...

Hello Rik,
Great, but you have to have a steady hand.
So, not for grandpas / grannies with shaky hands :-(

Re: Scales thread

Hello Macrero,

Great photo!

But it is also a fantastic lens with a long WD.
Here you can clearly see how important the WD is.

Re: Surirella lacrimula

Hi, Very nice, could work well as a 3d model. Best, ADi If only I could figure it out. I'm unhappy with Blender's extrusion or any other method I've tried so far. Maybe someday. -JW: Hello James, so I like it. BTW, I set the parameters in Blender so that I can export a 100MB glb-file (limit of sket...

Re: some scales

I don't know much about pollen but if life has taught me anything, it's that these pollen are slightly chewy and taste of lemon and orange. Did you mean fine drops? https://ness-shop.de/lebensmittel/suessigkeiten-knabbereien/fruchtgummis-bonbons/5319/woogie-fine-drops-zitronen-orangen-geschma...

Re: some scales

Yes, like tiny waffles! Doing a Google image search for pollen with waffle pattern produced one hit with a couple of very good matches: Hello Rik, Thank you for your research! It is therefore certain that it is pollen :-) Spontaneously I would guess: Anadenanthera colubrina. https://www.researchgat...

Re: some scales

Hello everyone,
On the rocking stereo they resemble round cakes more than balls.

Re: some scales

Hello everyone,
Another picture with balls.
But the balls look exactly the same as in the previous pictures.
So this can't be a coincidence.
I would therefore suspect pollen of some kind.

Re: Flat Macro scans - 2:1 with FF 1:6 Crop 400MPx pixel-shift vs. Mitty 5x with 32mpx APS-C

Hello Microscanning,

First of all, welcome to the forum.

If I only had the choice between the two alternatives mentioned
and wanted the higher resolution, I would choose the Mitu 5x.

If the camera has a fully electronic shutter,
the number of exposures doesn't matter.
