Yes, but the skillful composition turns that into an advantage for this shot.shinchin wrote: My first 10x stacking without cropping. A lot vignetting and dark corners probably due to the zoom len used.

Yes, basically correct. Thay are different mounts: M42 is a very old one that used to be used in the 1960s before brands all developed their own (like the Nikon mount). You want a M42 female to Nikon male adapter Note: I'm not a Nikon user. So if someone who is could just doublecheck this informati...

: Nikon CF 10X / 0.30 > 36mm ext. tube > Tokina 90mm Macro focused at infinity > 10cm bellows extension, exposure time 1.3 sec. , ISO 100. What is the 10cm belows extension for? The tube lens should be used at infinity, and extension will not allow it to reach infinity. Despite your anti-vibration ...

BUT considering the 2 lenses have a totally different construction & optical layout, it is difficult to tell wether the improvement comes from the coating or the completely different design... :?: I suspect the design at least as much as the coatings. Tamron 52B 90mm f/2.5 is 8 elements in 6 groups...

Re: Colour Infared IR
I've secured a Nikon D50 which has been converted to colour IR. It seemed like an interesting avenue to explore. It's only a 6.1mp DSLR (10,585 actuations) and I only have one MF Nikon lens that would be compatible, the Micro Nikkor 55/3.5. Be careful if your Micro-Nikkor is pre-AI. The D50 has a m...

If you are interested in "pure" IR images, then you need to mount an additional IR-pass, visible-cut filter on the lens and frame and focus in live view. Although, the D50 does not have live view. http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikond50 So for pure IR images you need to focus with visible light, m...

One thing to note, the definition of APO used for microscope objectives may not be the same definition used by Rodenstock and Schneider for photography lenses. This is unfortunately common for photographic lenses (Sigma call a lot of their lenses 'apo' which seems to mean 'uses some low dispersion ...

What's interesting in the data I'm showing here is that the overall exposure is consistent even though the color balance shifts. In one frame the RGB values are [189,188,186] while in another frame they are [188,190,189]. This is averaged over the same 51x51 area in both images. It's the change in ...

I see they sell evaluation kits at USD 199 for two lamps. It is not clear if you can choose the colour temperature of the lamps in the kit, though. http://www.cree.com/ledmodules/modules.asp Single unmounted modules seem to go for USD 83.73 in quantities of less than 10. http://search.digikey.com/us...
