Pixie cup lichen (Cladonia sp.)

This small (some 8 mm for the tallest) "pixie cup" lichen is quite common, but seems uncommonly beautiful.

I found this chap, apparently dead of natural causes, in some very stale water that had held a flower arrangement. At about 1mm, he seemed too large to likely be a gastrotrich, but if not, what?

Very nice. I had wondered about using an old grad density filter and played a bit with one with no good results. How did you arrange the filter bits?
