Very nice photos Sam. All the little hairs are sharp & crisp. With the wet weather we had all summer here in the Northeast USA, the grub and the beetle population has exploded. Everytime I dig in the garden I come up with a few grubs.

Excellent photos of a crazy looking hopper. DOF and Sharpness are right on Mark. I have never seen one like this. I want to know how you got so close to the snake.....They are known to be pretty nasty when you mess with them. I have captured a few in my youth and you had to be really careful not to get bitten (non poisonous). They did not make very good pets :D. Is this a young one?

Excellent photos Rik. I havn`t seen a black widow since I left NY. New Hampshire I assume is past their northern limit. With the blurry backgrounds, it makes the forgrounds look more 3D.

Really nice detail on the face Mark. it is amazing how they hold on to something small like that and than shoot off at any angle like a bullet.
