Yeap that's a beautiful flower and spider.

As for taking that photo, I would stop down or use shorter shutter speed and use flash as fill light.

Thanks guys!! :D It is a Camponotus carpenter ant, minor worker actually. The gaster is well distended like that most likely due to it being filled with something liquid it consumed. Although there is a slight chance the ant has a parasitic worm infection. Oh that's not a good news. Carpenter ants a...

Unknown ant

I don't know what sort of ant this is. I always see it on a tree all by itself. I don't think there's a colony.

The green stripe on the crab spider is a bit unusual for me, never seen one like that. Love the pattern and colours in the first one.

Very nice lighting with barely noticeable halo artifact from focus stacking. A small critique if I may. There seems to be banding in the background. I would suggest using a little blur tool in photoshop if the banding is actually artifact caused focus stacking. There's also some moire pattern in the...

It looks different and all but I fail to see the advantage of this method.

Could you please explain the advantage of this method over using a normal dslr with low ISO + flash?

I think that moth looks great and would look even better with some coloured lights.

I have a question, can you explain spp and sp? All wiki says is that spp is plural and sp is singular and the explanation of usage kinda lost on me.

I'm guessing it's a mouse in the snake's mouth in the second image. I really gotta try reptiles soon, they're just as fascinating as insects/arachnids.

Thanks for looking guys!! :D Though an arachiphobe myself, I find that two tailed spider to be interesting, wonder what those two appendages are for? :-k Those 'appendages' are actually the spinnerets Ken. They use it to lay thick silk to entangle their prey. They don't make web or shelter though. F...
