I've had it and the 10x for a few weeks and initial plays with it on APSC looked very encouraging! Sadly I'm unable to do a more thorough test, as I'm moving house and it'll be a few months before the new house has a partial conversion done to give me a macro studio again. :(

I don't know how much of a rush you're in, but if you're looking at this for the base of say a vertical rig, then if you can wait a week or two there's a manufacturer coming out with a really neat base, feet and vertical mounting arm for under £100 - combined! I'm betatesting one under NDA, but as s...

Looks like a good manual rail?

Looks pretty good to me, but of course, appearances can be deceiving. Has anyone tried this French macro rail?

Really interesting thread! One thing I'm noticing about the difference between that fine cloudfront shot and all the other pictures is the uniform and unambiguous high key white background. In terms of visual appeal of the shot, I think that has a lot to do with it. It's been a while since I used my...

Nice custom parfocality adapter part from SRB-griturn, UK

Hi, I had a part made (2 actually) that gives me easy parfocality on my Nikon Labophot. It cost me £50 from SRB-Griturn in the UK, and the service and outcome is so good that I feel the need to post here. The parts allow me to mate an M42 focusing helicoid between the microscope adapter on the camer...

Extreme insect macros in camera club comps are usually described as "great record shots". I had the opposite experience. In the one season that I was a member of a camera club, once they saw I did these they used them to enter inter-club and county competitions, and got the highest scores ever reco...

I started with one flash, a 2nd-hand reversed enlarger lens from eBay and a Velbon slider. I was perfectly happy with that for the first year or so

I'm very sorry you guys got caught out by fakes :(

Since I have a movie on youtube showing how it should work, if you make and post a movie showing yours not working, you might be able to get a refund? A poor purchase rating also usually gets their attention. You have nothing to lose...
