Still there, left it on the site for other people that might want to play with a cheap low cost alternative. Again it's a low cost alternative - not as good as the real thing. So when I finally got the real thing I stopped using it. But others seemed to have made something of it so it's all good :)....

I know MPE is all metal, but I do suspect that your combo might be a bit heavier and somewhat more awkward to use. And in terms of image quality and resolution, I do have to give the nod to MPE - a Raynox adapter is a perfectly good budget alternative, but that's what it is, a budget alternative.

Speaking for myself, I'm a recent recruit to the world of microscopy, and I'm eager to learn more. So I have joined Quekett, and I'll keep that membership up, but: Access to the web and its reams of amazing forums and websites means that information is now readily available, as is dialogue and engag...

Andrea Hallgass

It is with profound sadness that I want to pass on the news that Andrea Hallgass has passed on and is not with us anymore. He was one of the great stackers over at Flickr, and I for one learned a lot from him and found his work very inspiring.

Could it 'lock' it - ie "fasten" it so no movement possible? Seems odd to block the attachment hole underneath

New accessories - microscope stepper and vertical rig

Just wanted to make people aware of a couple of nice new wemacro accessories for the focus stacking world. They've been around a few weeks and I havn't seen mention of them - they're rather useful. The first is for the microscopy world - a focus stepping "bridge" between wemacro and a microscope. It...

Have you considered eBay instead of Amazon? I bought all mine through there. One thing - beware of the USB ones, they're not the right ones. Too weak. You need the bigger ones.

I'm not aware of it having been updated either. There's a 'last' version, as in last version ever put out, that's the one I'm hosting.

I've been in touch with Alan Hadley, and he's happy for me to host and distribute the last, latest copy - it's at a new downloads page - http://extreme-macro.co.uk/downloads/ if anyone has software or plugins that they'd like my site to also host via that new page, ping me a mail here or via the sit...

Just want to say that I've had one of these for a couple of months - thumbs up from me. Very sturdy, good large support underneath, plenty of holes to attach stuff - very very handy for anyone wanting to set up their own rig.
