Re: Amazing Deal on 2 “New” 10mm Pitch NSK Rails

(admin note: Link not working fixed)

With 10mm pitch it doesn't seem very useful for focus stacking, maybe meant for fast positioning.

Re: Connecting a DSLR to phototube

From my understanding the PLI eyepiece sits inside the T-BPA tube? I’ve found that the 2x ones are quite rare, so 2.5x with some FOV lost is acceptable for the time being. Yes, it does The 2X is much less frequent, although I own both and this one was the less expensive, just good luck. Also, what ...

Re: Connecting a DSLR to phototube

I am okay with spending money to make it work - I'm looking into a configuration with the C-TT trinocular head, but can't seem to find more info on the dimensions. Take a look at: https://www.optics-pro.com/Produktdownloads/65562_2_Herstellerbroschuere_EN.pdf page 29 AFAIK, C-TT has the 38mm port a...

Re: Connecting a DSLR to phototube

Note these are approximate - measured by ruler
This is enough precision, T-BPA and V-T tubes are designed for 38mm ports, so they don't fit.

Re: Connecting a DSLR to phototube

Two more further questions, - Does the removable C-mount part have any built-in lens? - What's the inner diameter and depth of the phototube smooth cylinder part? (without the C-mount part) (if they match with other more standard Nikon phototubes, an alternative setup with T-BPA or V-T tube and a pr...

Re: Connecting a DSLR to phototube

Thanks for the answers. I assume that the lens shown in the first picture is placed deep in the tube, isn't it? What I don't like is the 0.55X phototube "magnification" (in fact reduction). This is convenient for C-mount small sensor cameras but very low for APSC, so if as you say the tube is not re...

Re: [Hands On] Venus Optics (a.k.a Laowa) Aurogon Macro Lens

Thanks so much for performing the tests! If in your far subject test the Aurogon rear lens is mounted on the camera as it should, for me it's clear that the objective is not designed as infinite corrected, independently of it it could be forced to work like it altering the working distance and so wo...

Re: Connecting a DSLR to phototube

Detailed pictures of your phototube could help, is the tube (blue arrow) ended in C-mount thread camera mount or the camera mount itself (red arrow) removable? . N-Si-head.jpg If doable direct projection suggested by Scarodactyl could be the best option. If you are restricted to C-mount there are so...

Re: [Hands On] Venus Optics (a.k.a Laowa) Aurogon Macro Lens

I'm intrigued about some technical aspects (just curiosity, as I'm not planning to buy it) - Is it infinite corrected? Easy to test pointing the tube lenses without objective to a distant subject If infinite would be very nice to test it on other tube lenses and to test the actual tube lenses focal ...

Re: Agatized dinosaur bone from 0.7x to 60x

... could that iron oxide have been part of the original blood of the dinosaur? Who knows, but I don't think so. Iron oxides and hydroxides in several mineral species are the most widespread pigments that give sedimentary rocks (and of course fossils) their varied colors. Despite the admirably pres...

Yes, it's the 3D rendering for sure. Your new video shows the same issue, maybe a little less prominent. Thanks for the follow-up.
