The Raynox 250 is a fairly good quality +8 diopter close-up lens. Its a 3 elements in 2 groups achromat, and is multicoated. I had guessed at an achromatic doublet, since a singlet would surely give significant aberrations. Given the relatively recent date, a moulded aspheric is of course a possibility.
