Yes, but actually I bought the lens used and the original hood came along in the deal. Its a nice construction but in practical use it can be a little flimsy if you use to rest the hood against the ground or a branch or something and it gives in a little or starts to slide back. I know this is quite an old post, but for what its worth, I have published my first post on this forum here using this lens, and I think it handles really well.
