Did some testing of closing iris. There is a huge improvement by stopping down the front lens from 2.8 to 5.6. Beyond IQ decreases. http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/userpix/2798_28_stackedlens_digaron_ELnikkor2220_1.jpg @ 2.8 http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/userpix/2798_56_stackedlens_dig...

Hah! I just Googled it. So you are using a $7500 (new) large format lens as a TUBE LENS for a $50 (used) enlarger lens? After buying this tube lens, there was only 50$ left , so I bought the EL-nikkor! ;-)) It is actually a funny combination. As I wrote, used the Rodenstock for High-end watch photo...

Surprisingly good given the reputation this lens has, Wich lens has bad reputation? The HR Digaron seem to me the best (non-macro) lens I ever shot with. I did a lot of high-end watch photography (mag ca. 0.7) with a 8000x6000px digiback. This lens was the only one wich gave the high quality watchm...

I just realized it is a Rodenstock Apo-Macro-Sironar Digital 120mm 5.6, and not a Apo-Digitar. I never ever used it for real macro as it is integrated in a view-camera and doing MF 22Mpx Macro is odd. It performs fine for stilllife with my old Sinarback. Rodenstock says 0.5X-2X.. So I will really ha...

Re: any Linos Inspec.x L 5.6/105 experience?
What camera would you be using it on Antal, and what mag model where you thinking about? Thanx for this reply, Robert. I would use it on FF (5D mark4). I shoot a lot of 1x - 3x and was thinking about buying the very same model as you had, as there are cheep copies for sale. The 3,5x model is much r...

Their other product seem to be much more interesting. I don't use such lens, but a 23mm with 79 fucus distance and 70mm image circle is not very common to my eyes. And their view camera has some good points and good ideas (ok, I had them too, some years ago..). The no-go is tilting without micrometr...

any Linos Inspec.x L 5.6/105 experience?
Hello all,
Are there people who have tested the Linos Inspec.x L 5.6/105? Data looks quite promising if you believe the quotes from Qoptix (who builded Roberts mythic mag.X)

Schneider Electronic Shutter: setting shutter aperture
Hi, Not really a macro specific topic, but there may be some experts out there: I got this Schneider Electronic Shutter System. I got one lens for wich Schneider custom service has set the aperture to the specific lens: Rodenstock HR Digaron-S. As it is my most important (and most expensive) lens, t...
