I'll leave the Nikon scanner lens here for another week (until January 10), and then move it to eBay. I will consider reasonable offers. :)

I have to confess that several years ago, one early but memorable morning, I fumbled a Mitutoyo 10x objective when I was screwing it into position. It fell through my fingers just a short distance to the counter top, and suffered no visible marks on the surface of the glass or barrel. However, the i...

Re: Plustek 120 Medium Format Scanner Lens Test Results

The specs for this scanner are amazing, too good to be true of course, 5300 ppi, 60mm scan area, APO corrected, 8 element lens. I would recommend the lens if you can find one of these scanners for a good price. They have been discontinued a couple of years ago and were sold under 4 different labels...

The Voigtlander 180mm f/4 Apo Lanthar is a compact manual focus lens that produces sharp images with gentle transitions. However, it's limited to 1:4 magnification, and it has become expensive due to increasing scarcity.

Wow, 16-image pixel shift technology! 240Mp!! If it has focus bracketing I'd sell my Panasonic S1R. Wow is right! Even without focus bracketing (which would be very nice, but I haven't seen it mentioned in any of the announcements), it would provide over 100Mp pixel shift images in APS-C crop mode,...

I routinely measure the voltage whenever I pick up old Vivitar 283 units, and then I tag them with the value. Most have measured around 9V, but I tested a couple that were well above that. Here's a site that has a schematic, and some suggestions for lowering the triggering voltage, but I've never fo...
