Re: Post Focus Stacks with Lumix Gx80

Depending on the camera model, some Panasonic cameras give you an option of 4K or 6K video for post focus.

Re: Post Focus Stacks with Lumix Gx80

Thanks for that. I really like post focus in my Panasonic.

There is also a general post focus thread here: http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/v ... 25&t=37904

Re: Worm With Spider (Caution: not for the squeamish!)

I feel the need to visit the chemist and buy some de-worming tablets. :)

If you have LR or C1 you can do some processing of the RAW files before you export to and stack in Helicon. There is a Helicon plug for both LR and C1. C1 guide here: https://www.heliconsoft.com/capture-one-plugin/ Use RAW in DNG out for LR here: https://www.heliconsoft.com/raw-in-dng-out/ IN LR mak...

I have used the Olympus 60mm macro, Olympus 30mm macro and the Panasonic 45mm macro lens. Apart from the obvious range of each lens differing, they all perform well. The overall process when using Post Focus is very close. I tend to use the Olympus 30mm more as it is 1.25X (2.5X 35 mm equivalent).

Post Focus is a fully automated process using a specialised 4K or 6K video mode on the camera. There are no precise details on what the camera does, that I have found. I have made 1,000s of Post Focus videos now. I can say this by way of observation (I only use 6K) after you press the shutter: 1. Th...

Newmowa is another brand to look at. While I have not used the Olympus battery, I have used there Sony FZ100 and Panasonic G9 batteries from Newmowa without issues.

You can often but two batteries, 2 battery cases and a USB charger for a good price on Amazon.

No Sony A7 series camera (or the A9) has focus stacking. It is not on Sony's radar. But this thread suggests ways to get around that shortcoming: https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/4314348 Not practical for in field use, my main need. There was a Sony app that allowed 3 images to be stacked - n...
