a little above the possibilities of that optic, isn't it?

episcopic adapter
I have no experience in this. I want to do some photography tests using incident light, that is, a beam splitter that sends the light through the optics of the microscope objective, and that light reflected from the object goes back through the beam splitter to go to the camera. I am writing this be...

Re: Experience with lighting/diffusion using a single strobe?
I use Jansjo spotlights for all my professional work. And my only concern is that I do not change one, when I change them I change them all at the same time to be sure that they come from the same manufacturing package and do not change the color. Well, my current concern is that they have stopped m...

Re: Can we discuss perspective and perception of scale?
I think the position of the camera is decisive. If you point down, we tend to read things as small. I try to photograph my minerals (when I can) in a "horizontal" view so that they look like landscapes. I always have in mind the movie "journey to the center of the earth" (by the way, horrible versio...

Re: software for adding photos
The solution has been surprisingly simple. One step back .... I disassembled my DSLR and put an IPhone11 in its place. I just had to select "panorama" and drag across the guides and I immediately had a perfect 22Mb image. Now I want to try pocket compact cameras, so I don't have to use an iPhone tha...

Re: are 3d resin printers good for us?
my experience with resin printers is that the surface quality is very good, but the resistance is very low. Threads easily degrade and turn to dust.
I continue to print in PLA, always in 100% infill and many reinforcements, as a commercial design piece. The pieces are very good

Re: Sunset on the lake Nakuru Kenya
what great memories of my travels these photos bring me ... This is a topic that I often theorize with my friends and students. I think that any photograph, because it is a 2D of a 3D, because it is a small area of a much larger reality ... it is already a manipulation that seeks a specific response...

software for adding photos
I think I've already talked about this sometime ... I'm trying to find software to add images as tiles. Photomerge, Autopano ... they seem to assume that the camera is on the tripod and rotates to take the different photos. But here in the Museum where I work they have two microscopes that can make ...

Re: What about a 3D printer?
If one has knowledge of 3D design, the 3D printer is a way to go crazy. Responding to the threads, in the photo that opens this thread you can see a T thread (M42x0.75) that attaches my Canon reflex to my telescope and that gives me almost the same security as a purchased part. As I am clueless, I h...

Re: What about a 3D printer?
At this moment my printer is an Anycubic. I was not too much confident because the motor is moving in the Y axis, and this (I think...) can generate vibrations, but no. I am very happy with Any

Re: High key contrast method (post-processing tip)
Photoshop place layers in "normal" mode by default and that affects color. I convert the layers of levels and curves to "luminosity" mode and that allows me great modifications without affecting the color

Re: Polarized midge larvae
Nice images! . You do not have loss of contrast when using a polarizer between the object and the objective? I have never achieved a nice result and with minerals with shiny surfaces it should work well.

What about a 3D printer?
Not strictly for macro, although I am using this to adapt lenses to my Canon. It fit perfectly, the camera will go attached to my telescope and I have'nt any afraid about the future life of my camera. This is a Canon bayonet adapter, to M42x1. printed on a 3D printer with PLA, which costs little mor...
