edited to add: I suppose there may be a moral to the story above. My GAS was driven by both an overall goal, and by the commissioned systems. These are good reasons IMO for GAS. I would recommend to every gear head to explore the why of their purchases, and make sure they are helping you to meet yo...

I have to be sick - or healed from GAS

I'm pretty sure that GAS is strong among us, the forum users. Today I found a mint condition Canon 35mm f2.8 Macro Photo Lens, aka the bellows macro lens. It was in original package with FD-RMS -adapter and the plastic casing plus it was on sale in my own country which is rare. Price was 250€, I put...

The feathers in your wife's hats look like domestic pheasant and partridge plumes, which would probably have been captive-bred. Where do you see partridge feathers, 5th picture can fool, but it's still a pheasant, unless you have a very special breed of partridge. As a semi-pro former fly tyer and ...

Hi Oscar-macro, Look closely to the silver attachment ring with a lever pointing to the right. Turn it clockwise until the red dot appears in the silver ring (it is in its outer part, not inside) and is at 12 o´clock position. Then the bellows is ready to take the adapter out. But, you may have to t...

Cut the bottom off a polystyrene cup, poke a hole in the base so you can slip it over the objective with the wide open top over the subject. The cup will be surrounding the subject too. Now try lighting that (flash or continuous). Should give you nice even light for epi illumination. Just guess how...
