My subdivision has recently gone through alot of building and construction - and I think the critters have fewer places to run to - so I have found a lot of new spiders in my yard I haven't seen before (or maybe never looked hard enough.) Now that I have learned how to use ZS a tiny bit more I shoul...

Thanks for the feedback, Tyler. That grasshopper looks great! Comparison of the images suggests to me that you mostly or maybe completely went with the DMap outputs. Did you use the PMax for anything in this case? By the way, this conversation has prompted me to get that second tutorial linked into...

Um ok - I am kicking myself for not taking the time to watch these. After one video - here is a sample to show what I have learned. First is a stack of a grasshopper. Because of the nature of this thread I am going to overlook the camera settings - and talk about instead what I did in ZS. I hope you...

But don't feel too bad for not having seen this second retouching tutorial. It's new, not even properly linked into the rest of the documentation yet.

Umm - I am not sure I have watched any of them - so I need to do some work!

I didn't do enough homework when I purchased ZS. I need to watch as many tutorials as possible. I have never run any stack other than a PMax stack and I have never done retouching. This is incredibally interesting. Hmmm - :) I wonder if I have any files I can stack and give this a go. Thanks for hel...

Silver Spider

I was very intrigued by this spider - as most of the spiders in my yard are of the orb weaver variety. This guy had alot of things that struck me as interesting. First - this is my first spider on web and Wyoming is rather windy - so it was challenging. Second - This spider is very silver - it is co...

Ok - I haven't watched the tutorial so I hope that I can see examples - as I think I understand but I am not 100% sure on the rotational thing. As far as turning it off in ZS - I have done that with some new stacks (Live work in the wind, yikes, keep your eyes open in the forums for em :) ) and it s...

Tyler, I believe Rik may be saying, if your stacking apparatus does not introduce any rotation , then it's best to also uncheck Rotation > Options > Preferences > Alignment in Zerene Stacker. Is your stacking apparatus inadvertently introducing any rotation? Following the proceedure outlined below ...

If your stacking apparatus physically prevents rotation Thanks Rik - can you elaborate on this, I am unsure of what you mean? My slides go forward and reverse, and left and right. My tripod head is a pistol grip so it isn't the easiest to move - but it rotates if I need to - but that fine of moveme...

Hmm - ok so I ran the stack through again - and apparently I haven't been doing the slide show right at all like you suggested. So I have attached two screen shots, one showing one of the stacked images as adjusted and another showing the image as shot. Then I have attached the final product of the ...

About the alignment problem, I don't know what's going on but I can suggest how to explore it. After you have run the stack, you can press-and-drag within the list of Input Files to play through all your frames as if they were a slideshow or movie, with the selected file serving like a timeline sli...

i thought i should add that the images are not looking bad in ZS itself, so I attached a screen shot here. But when I save them - thats when it seems to happen - before they are ever opened in Photoshop. If I look in the file - the thumbnails look like that. Its really bugging me that I can't fix it...

Incidentally here are a few other stacks of the same hopper - again I had a problem with this full view stack - I had 68 images to stack - and I couldn't see alot of change or movement between any images in the stack but I could only get about the last 18 images to stack right - from their the image...

A little help?

I am using Zerene Stacker and Photoshop cs4. I had a neat looking green grasshopper I wanted to try different shooting techniques out with today, mostly using my belows and I figured out how to stop down a reversed lens - so I was working on that (and getting lots of vignetting.) My problem is how m...
