I used Chem Sharp a few times but there are other ways to sharpen including electrolysis. Grinding won't get you fine enough.

I've never tried what you're asking about, so this may be a moot response. Perhaps a pulled glass needle or a sharpened 0.25mm tungsten wire would work. A couple of photos of tungsten wire.

I've been working on getting my Optiphot Biological up and running again. It's been a while since I've done much imaging. Note the question mark in the subject. This image stack was done with an old Panasonic GH-3, no relay lens, and projected directly onto the camera sensor.
