Only a crazy idea
I was looking at my old 3D printer and it occurred to me that I have all the mechanics for a panoramic micro photography system there. A guided platform in X and Y and a Z axis that can move the camera to take the photos for each stack. Of course, I do not have the knowledge of electronics and progr...

Re: Follow Focus-Type Automated Stacking?
Not for a micro, but I have attached a stepper motor to a focus ring in a tele lens in order to focus it without touching it. With the proper control it will work in macrophoto, I feel

Re: Deep stack with an old battery
Most cameras today have a fully electronic shutter. The very new cameras don't have any mechanical shutter at all. Even my old, cheap M6M2 has a fully electronic shutter 😊. Best, ADi ops! My "new" camera in microscope is a second hand Pentax K5 II. But I can use a Canon 2000D. I can't find info abo...

Re: Using focusing rail manually with X4 objectives?
I feel (in my experience) that these microscope supports are in the limit . OK for x4 but ¿never you will use a x10?...

Re: Deep stack with an old battery
camera: Canon EOS M6 Mark II ; tube-lens: Raynox DCR-150 ; lens: Mitutoyo M Plan Apo 10x/0.28 ; aperture: 0.28 ; magnification: 10x ; exposure time: 1/8 s ; lighting: LED ; format: RAW ; ISO: 100 ; stack: 1571 * 0.0017mm ; do you really need that many photos for a x10 stack? I usually use less than...

Re: Using focusing rail manually with X4 objectives?
Does anyone here have experience with this particular rail, or could recommend a better manual focus rail for vertical use? Years ago I published here a DIY stacking rail made of wood and drawer guides, with a knob divided into 100 parts, so the theoretical resolution was 0.01mm. The idea was to he...

Contrast with Zerene
I am very surprised now ... I am stacking some mineral images with little contrast. To get a larger tonal gamut that doesn't need to be overstretched in Photoshop, I've applied a Photoshop action to the individual images before stacking them in Zerene. I expected that this increase in contrast would...

Re: AmScope x4 vs Generic X4 review
Now I am completely convinced . I need to change my x4 (may it just be an achromatic doublet?)
Any suggestion of where to buy it without the shipping being more expensive than the objective? I live in Barcelona, Spain

finite lenses working as infinite lenses
Yes, it sounds like heresy, but everything has to be tested before denying the possibility that it works. The first test has been placing my cheap x4 (very cheap, some day I must to change it) in front of the Rodenstock 180. I really like the result. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51734126108_3...
