Re: Galanthus
Thank you! It's really nice to see how well the lens works on this sensor - I'm just wondering whether I could reduce the size of the setup, take the lens from a bellows to a... hm... helicoid? Hello, Not really. The helicoid usually needs additional support as it can't carry much on its own. Or ra...

Re: Shooting flies
Hello Gedaliah,
I have had little success so far with bathing flies in any liquids,
so I now clean them with air (bellows) and a brush.
Best, ADi

Re: AstrHori 25mm f/2.8 2x-5x full-frame macro lens
I do find that the Mitu 7.5x pushed down on a good 150-135mm tube lens is significantly better than the Laowa at around 4.5x to 5x, and I sometimes use that For 5x I use Mitu 10x with EF 100L Macro. For 2.5x Mitu 5x and EF100L Macro. The USM motor of this macro lens has very small steps and a very ...

Hello everyone,
I have a few LU Plans, 20x is also included.
These lenses are great, but they produce a lot of CA,
which can be easily removed with software.
Unfortunately, these lenses are no longer given away
for almost free when I bought them.

Re: AstrHori 25mm f/2.8 2x-5x full-frame macro lens
I sure hope someone trustworthy and capable tests this very important lens.....these two lenses (AstrHori and Laowa) are unique for macro work and one of them should be in the toolbox of almost any macro photographer. Which one? Curious macro photographers want to know! Hello Lou, I don't have eith...

Re: High resolution sensors to measure mechanical position & movement
Hello Espresso,
I measure small distances with Zerene. It is very good for my requirements.

Re: kitchen ant
Hello Rik,
Thanks for the hint!
So far I have split Edge to two windows and opened the thread twice and then scrolled to the same places,
then zoomed in and looked at the two neighbouring images in the middle.

Hello Rik,
Fantastic documentation, great photos!
I've been putting off reviewing this thread because in order to see the stereo pairs,
I have to swap sides of images for the parallel view :-)

Hello Rik,rjlittlefield wrote: ↑Mon Feb 26, 2024 12:28 pmThe removal looks good to me. Did you do it with the dust mask, or some sort of post-processing?

Post-processing, because in this case it was much less time consuming :-)

Re: some scales
These came out very nice! One small issue: I'm distracted by that dust trail that looks like a dark fiber sticking from front to back, below-left of image center. I don't know any good way to retouch those out of a stereo/rocking sequence, but they can be addressed effectively by building an approp...
