Re: Hoverfly
Hi Andy
1. in my experience, my images get better with PMax.
The retouching of the PMax stack is done with "Edit".
2. often I replace the background with an image from the stack.
I can't give any general advice.

Small brown fly
Hi Another small brownish fly with 8mm body length. There are many different species of these, I have never photographed this species until now. Typical for this species is that the row of long hairs next to the compound eyes is missing. https://up.picr.de/42451991xc.jpg www.focus-stacking.ch/B/0536...

Wasp
Hi The last one before winter. The German wasp (Vespula germanica) is now native to all similar climatic regions worldwide. In Switzerland it belongs with the V. vulgaris to the most common wasp species. https://up.picr.de/42413141ca.jpg www.focus-stacking.ch/B/05366_00.JPG Camera: Nikon D810 Lens: ...

Re: Marine amphipod: Iphiclides minuta
Hi Ricardo
I also like this picture very much!
The structure of the carapace is well visible, so are the star-shaped pigment cells.
Hexagonal ommatidia here as well.
It is a pleasure

Re: Marine amphipod: Lembos websteri
Hi Ricardo
Very nice picture!
The black background supports the colors and the pigment cells are well visible.
It is interesting that the ommatidia are hexagonal and not quadrangular as for example in Crangon crangon.

Hi Not much longer they fly, due to the weather (Europe) is grounding. Some flies I stacked this year, especially to see the heads of the small species in the picture, it was beautiful and interesting for me. https://up.picr.de/42324282xx.jpg www.focus-stacking.ch/B/05339_00.JPG Camera: Nikon D500 L...

Hi Lou
Now I understand, I wrote that wrong!
With the Laowa I used the aperture 2.8.
I have corrected it now.
Very attentive, thank you very much.

Re: Egg clutches
Hi Lou I'm glad you like the pictures. At 3:1 the Laowa resolves a little higher than the APO Rodagon N 50mm. Directly on the repro stand I have the Nikon bellows mounted, Nikon D810 in the back and lenses in the front. For 3:1 I would have to mount the Laowa directly to the camera and the camera di...
