Very nice image, Saul. It remains clear and 3 dimensional, also in the upper part which I found myself the most challenging to capture.

Interesting image, thanks for sharing. Curious about your electronic flash setup. Are you using a beam splitter for that?

Nice set, thanks for sharing. I'm also interested in (trying to make) a series of stained sections from one plant from top to root tip, e.g a grass. But commercial slides often offer unbeatable quality.

Very nice set, Christian. I like the darkfield (are they darkfield?) images the best with the combination of inner and outer structure.

Sunflower pollen in circular oblique light

With the setup I'm using for the 104 type diatom slide I wanted to try sunflower pollen (embedded in Euparal) as well. I posted pictures from this slide 2 years ago (using DIC and darkfield), but this attempt shows a bit more 3 dimensional and natural looking result. Objective is 100x Leitz Fluotar ...

That's Euparal indeed, it's useful for many purposes; the smallest quantity will be enough for many years. Animal or vegetable material embedded in Euparal should be transferred from 100 % alcohol, any object should be free from any water. Nice job you did with pictures of mask material as shown in ...

You're welcome James. 150 mu thickness should not be a problem for mounting, many times insects that are thicker are mounted as well. The glare effect can remain with this setup though easier to reduce with post processing in e.g. PS. But it's hard to predict whether it will improve the output image...
