Compound eyes of Hybomitra sp. male
Hi The barely colored compound eyes are fascinating, I could not find ocellus clearly. In this species the compound eyes are very close, like in T. autumnalis (?), but I limit myself in the determination of the gadfly to the genus Tabanus. The specimen had a body length of 20mm. https://up.picr.de/4...

Hi
In Switzerland we call it "Lerchensporn" (larkspur).
It is a plant I know, but only your first three pictures blow me away!
So beautiful and very good.
A pleasure to enjoy the pictures.

Re: Table for macro rig
Hi Leander I don't understand the point of this. Since the table is so heavy, it vibrates as much as the floor. But the table with about 100kg is very light compared to the concrete floor (with about 1000kg?). If the heavy floor moves then the light table moves as well. The table will not settle dow...

Hi NikonUser started here: https://www.photomacrography.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=43298 I continue here. In old leaves of Ruscus aculeatus (butcher's broom) the leaf veins are clearly visible. https://up.picr.de/40926105cv.jpg Ficus benjamina also shows beautiful leaf veins when a leaf is lying...

Re: Insects, and maybe a discussion about post-processing
Hi Mark I like the pictures very much. I take pictures in the studio and pay attention to the best quality when shooting.
