Check the position of the prism position push-pull control rod on the right side of the head. It has three positions, one is all image light to the eyepieces, one is split eyepieces and trinocular port, the last is trinocular port only. You're probably on eyepieces only.

I would like to be able to chase moving subjects using the joy stick, so the system needs to be smooth, easily and rapidly variable in speed to that I can pan in...

How do you clean the potting material off the chip to expose the circuitry?

I don't think they're compatible, but I've never actually checked. I have a BX-40 and BH-2s, so I can check tomorrow. I can check a 3D part too, if you'd like.

SPlans are the proper objectives for DIC on the BH-2. That's what I use on mine. Try your SplanApo 100x before you buy a replacement. I also have an SPlanApo 20x that seems to work fine as well.
