Yes, you will see it - all other things being equal. IN contrast with normal photography, on a studio macro setup you can always use base ISO to reduce noise to a minimum, so that's not an issue.. Doubling your MP will only give you sqrt 2 = 1.4x the number of pixels on each axis remember, but if yo...

I have a couple of BD objectives with black rubber "O" rings blocking the light path (threaded end). Easy to use and work.

I just looked at the toner spatter from my new Brother laser printer. The dots are about 5µm. It's the standard 2400 x 600 dpi. I don't know why they DO that - is it significantly better than or different from 600dpi x 600dpi? Perhaps we could make use of it, for a grid of lines in the better direct...

For a stand - this has had some seriously good reviews:

It would be good to NOT use a tripod!

I tried a Nikon 100mm f/2.8 series E a way back, I found it very poor as a TL with a couple of objectives.compared with a 105 macro, 100mm (or 105mm) Rodagon,
It's a reasonable "taking" lens so I don't think it's a faullty copy. Perhaps it would have been better with a limiting aperture interposed.

I think you need someone to come along and get rid of the clutter on the front desk. I could pass your way if you like?

What's the monstrance on the far left, with the built in screen?

Different Chris - we have many :) The 4000px image does show some decent detail, but something looks wrong. A suggestion - does the objective have a shiny rear end? If so it can cause problems with reflections with glass surfaces, which "fog" the image. The solution is to use flocking (search forum ...

YOu're right, different objective then so yes, 2mm is much more difficult to work with using reflected light.
It's still a very good price!

Is that the finite one with about 3mm Working Distance? If so yes it's OK. For general photomicroscopy with transmitted light on a microscope with a condenser, sure, it's fine. Beatable optically, but that price is very reasonable. If you mean photography using reflected(top) light then it's certain...

Another illuminating test.=D>

Just to confirm - you're not using limiting central paper apertures in these combos?

Fun getting the light in with such short WD?!? Is the slip just resting on the paper? I once tried fixing a coverslip to an objecting, figuring that it shouldn't matter where it went. It didn't work for me - flare and fogging everywhere, but I didn't persist. Perhaps if the edges of the slip had bee...

You've done very well with the OOF halos/foreground which usually go with the magnification territory.
Did you do anything to reduce it?

Like an Optiphot 1?
just under 60mm diameter.

I meant the surface finish on your prints is good - even where it's not post processed.

:smt026 I can use that :D

Looks like a very good surface finish. Are you using a solvent-chamber for the finish?
