These slides made to fit 2020 extrusions may be something to investigate.

You can attach mgn12 and mgn15 linear slides directly to aluminum extrusions. I made a full length tnut substitute from a strip of 1/8"x1/2" aluminum bar by drilling and tapping holes.

As far as I know, there are no ball bearing carriages which will run directly on aluminum extrusions.

I did have a couple of questions for anybody with experience with the Misumi/80/20 profiles and accessories: Is there a roller bearing (like this: https://8020.net/pub/media/catalog/product/cache/image/700x560/e9c3970ab036de70892d86c6d221abfe/4/0/40-6824_photo.png ) that will work on this type of p...

I used a 12"x18"x3" granite surface plate for my desktop setup. I used a hand drill and masonry bit to drill through holes. It wasn't hard to do, but did take a long time. I bolted the aluminum extrusions from the bottom using long bolts, washers, and tnuts. There are several online metal suppliers ...

Cover the granite with a steel plate, 18 gauge or thicker. This allows you to use magnets to position lights, diffusers, etc. Granite can be drilled with masonry drills. It's best to do it outside and use running water to keep the dust down. The dust can cause silicosis, a serious disease. You can e...

If the stepper driver/controller can enable and disable the stepper, then using a handwheel works fine. The stepper will generate voltage when driven manually, so the controller may need protection. Here's a screenshot showing stepper and pulley on the Z axis of my rose engine. The handle on the lar...

A bushing would probably be your best bet. This steel pipe (DOM) from Misumi should work.

This 60t pulley has a 6mm bore.

There are no GT3 pulleys. There are GT2 and GT3 belts. Each of these are available in 2mm, 3mm, 5mm, 8mm pitch. Unfortunately most ebay, aliexpress, 3d print shops, etc. call GT2 - 2mm only GT2. I have 3d printed GT2-3mm pulleys as well as CNC machined them. I don't think my 3d printer would make ac...

...more concerned with stiffness to reduce amplitudes... OK, in this case BIGGER base is better than smaller base ;) I'm not so sure. The problem with bigger bases is they have more area for external influences to induce vibrations, lower frequency resonances, and can support larger vibrational amp...

I use an 12"x18"x3" granite surface plate . Weighs 79 pounds. If you live near a machinery supply, they are fairly inexpensive. Shipping can be expensive. Holes are easy to do with masonry drills. How do you mount things to it? Threaded inserts in the holes? Epoxied inserts work well. I used throug...

Edit: This is the reason paragraphs I wrote for my eBay listing to explain why I don't accept return any more: Quote Sorry, I cannot accept return terms set by eBay's rules. eBay's system has many bugs for returns. Recently, in a "buyer's remorse" case, eBay agreed with me that buyer should pay for...

Those nuts either dont elimiate it OR increse system wear overtime with backlash returning. Actually, Acetal (Delrin) has a small amount of flex in it which allows nuts to ride firmly on both flanks of the thread. The split nut design can compensate for wear by applying more pressure with the set s...

You can find the TR8 leadscrews on Aliexpress in 1,2,4, and 8mm pitches. I have a 500mm long TR8-1mm for another project. The quality appears to be excellent. You will need to be able to machine the ends in order to make it fit the rail.
