Hello: an impressive image!!. Out of curiosity: how does the Nikon Coolscan 800 behave vs the Nikon Rayfact 95mm f2.8? Could you show the setup to make the Rayfact telecentric? The best Ramon, I prefer the coolscan 800 for 1X and the Rayfact for 2X in telecentric mode. Here is my setup for the shot...

I just tested the lens at 1X with Olympus OMD M5 inhi res mode. The lens can clearly resolve El 7, Gr 3 or 161 lp/mm or 3.1 microns. I think that is the limit of this sensor.Smokedaddy wrote:... just curious, wouldn't a 1951 USAF resolution test chart be best to test the resolution of each lens?

The diameter of the diaphragm is approximately 9 mm" I have made some measurements comparing th...

Thanks for the hint. Will try next time.mjkzz wrote:wow, nice! I was trying to find the 3.5x f/4 version of the lens. Seen a lot of f/5.6 3x one, but I think effective aperture probably kill the sharpness.

Excellent, congratulations! That's encouraging. So you had no stitching problems, right? Did you need to start each stack in the same plane? Or is the Inspec.x lens telecentric? I suppose the latter, as a machine vision lens. Lou, It worked on the first try, I just specify near-far points for stack...

Mike, there are cheap Fotodiox shift adapters from Nikon mounts to MFT mounts. No need for tilts. Also, the good Nikon bellows have shifts in one direction (and tilts). For scanning a large aerial image it needs to be used backwards (shifting camera rather than lens), as I discussed in the thread. ...
