Sorry for the offtopic
Seeing a lot of threads lately about scanner lenses makes me wonder if every flatbed scanner has a lens inside.I have a chance to buy a microtek A3 1800XL scanner at a tempting price but I want to be sure that I will find a lens inside.

JohnyM I didn't know that this behavior was inherent to efcs. Before Sony A6000 the only camera brand that had efcs on some of its models was Canon, which was praised among this forum's users.A behavior similar to your photos (and also mine ) was never described by a Canon user in this forum. This is...

Some more pros and cons after 16 months of use.

Great focus peaking function with manual lenses
Graet pixel density.
Inefficient sensor cleaning
Battery is drained even the camera is off
Useless with lenses with F1.4 and less due to banding issues.

I own the camera, see my first impressions here: http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=192043&highlight=#192043 With speeds lower than 1/200 you won't have problems with black patterns at the top of the frame. It seems that other sony mirrorless cameras have the same problem. Althoug...

If I use that 38mm-Cmount adapter, and hook that up to this http://www.amscope.com/focusable-hdmi-camera-with-standalone-imaging.html?gclid=CjwKCAjwwuvWBRBZEiwALXqjw57dcf8ot-Qq8kVKDPac9GTCOJQs2D6oAqc6drQP7A9IuM_Q4PerWRoClAgQAvD_BwE, would that work, or would I need some additional part? If it works...

I opened it up and did not see any visible fault, no burning marks, all capacitors looks normal, no bloated one, it does have a transformer, so it seems to be well isolated between high voltage and low voltage and should not have ground loop issue. Anyways, send it for repair, if they can fix it, I...

... So do you think I should just use one of those eyepiece cameras? Because this sounds like it is going to get quite expensive, otherwise... :( Once again I don't have a personal experience with eyepiece cameras so I can't tell about their performance.I have noticed that the majority of them clai...

Your response again means so much, and it got me thinking, "I wonder what the other port (the posterior one in the images) looks like?" So it actually has a 38 mm opening. I should be able to put a 38mm-to-Cmount adapter in there and plug a camera into that, right? OR alternatively, can I just repl...

I don't have the Y-QT so I don't know how you can attach a camera to the lower port. I do own a Nikon trino head for E400 microscope. The easiest way is to attach a mirrorless camera (Olympus or Sony) which have a flange distance similar to C-mount. I will advice against a c-mount camera unless you n...
