Cleaning dust from a camera sensor
Although I realize this topic has probably been covered in other posts on this forum (and a search provided some information), I have a question about removing dust from the sensor on my Canon 1300D camera. This camera is used exclusively for photomicroscopy. I have it attached to the phototube on a...

Re: A Choanoflagellate and Lacrymaria
One thing I have wondered about in relation to the last 2 comments. If you set up Kohler illumination carefully with the lamp filament in focus but then put a diffuser in the light path to produce a more uniform field of illumination, what difference does it make to be sure that the lamp filament is...

Re: A Choanoflagellate and Lacrymaria
David, I have another question. I am not familiar with how a foot pedal is hooked up. I have my camera directly connected to my computer so that I can use my computer screen to focus and take the pictures. Is the foot pedal connected to the computer and essentially acts like a mouse which I use to t...

Re: A Choanoflagellate and Lacrymaria
Thanks for that useful information, David. Very helpful. I need to look into a foot pedal for the exposure for my Canon 1300D camera. I'm sure it would make my photomicrography life easier!

Re: A Choanoflagellate and Lacrymaria
These are really great shots. Could you give a little information on the equipment used, plesae (microscope, objective, flash or not)? Thanks, Tim

Question about spots on photomicrographs
Dear All. I have recently noticed that there are a couple of round spots on my photomicrographs that are not coming from the subjects that I am photographing. Here is an example (see the spots indicated at the arrows). Picture1.jpg I don't think they are from the optics of the microscope, since I do...

Re: Questions about using a YN568EX III flash unit for photomicroscopy
Sorry for the lateness of my reply, but thanks to both Rik and Pau for their helpful comments. I did get a hot shoe cord and have been having fun taking photos using my flash and learning how to make it work. Thanks again!

Re: Questions about using a YN568EX III flash unit for photomicroscopy
I need to make a correction in my first post. The camera is a Canon T6/1300D not a T6i.

Questions about using a YN568EX III flash unit for photomicroscopy
I am new to posting on this forum but have read many interesting posts, including ones on using external flash units in photomicroscopy. I have a Canon T6i that I use on a Zeiss Photomicroscope III for taking photos and videos but I would like to add flash photography. I recently received a YN568EX ...
