Darkfield Microscopy... is it that easy?
Hello everyone! Once again I am suffering from the problem of reading too much into a topic and getting confused. I have a "Radical" (Chinese brand I think) compound trinocular microscope with a standard brightfield condenser. I also have some 3D printed darkfield filters I purchased from eBay. Is i...

Focus Bracketing on Canon / Sony Mirrorless Range
Hello Everyone! I am looking to update my Canon EOS 500D as it is coming to the end of its life. I am looking at either Canon or Sony mirrorless ranges, ideally with focus bracketing capability. For my budget - crop sensor models (A6000 etc and M series) is probably more likely for me. Is there any ...

Nikon BD Plan Mount
Hello Everyone! Thank you all for being so helpful with regards to objectives. I was just wondering about the mount type for the Nikon BD Plan series. On eBay I can see a: M26 X 0.7 to Male RMS adapter M26 X 0.75 to Male RMS adapter Only 0.05 between both of them but I know that probably makes a dif...

Re: Nikon TU Plan 50x ELWD! Rare!
I have for sale Nikon TU Plan ELWD WD 11mm N.A. 0.60 (Thread 25mm) The lens I sell is new, it was simply removed from the new microscope. It's a really good lens for extreme macro , due to the large NA 0.60 and WD11 I also have a BD version (brightfield and darkfield) with a 32mm thread - the same ...

Re: 20x Finite Objective Suggestions
I would violently disagree that 3mm is "more than enough" working distance for most macro. True, an experienced photographer can make 3mm work sometimes for some subjects. .... First, thanks for the nikon mplan brochure; never seen those M Fluor lenses around. Would not mind trying the 14x and 26x ...

Re: Looking for a good m4/3 camera for focus stacking
Hi, Now I am using Sony APS-C cameras (Sony NEX-5N and A5100) and bought a cheap (20€) Nikon 1 J1 but I am thinking about getting a m4/3 camera as the main one for my scope, the 2x crop factor seems ideal for nikon CFN lens line. I do not need things like a viewfinder or but I would like to have go...

20x Finite Objective Suggestions
Hello! After creating a post last week and deliberating about a 10x objective - I am now considering taking a step forward to a 20x - as I feel I have too many objectives close together in magnification. From your experiences what would be a good starting out 20x, finite, objective be? Budget wise: ...

Re: Reversed Enlarger Lens?
I don't as yet see why the original set up is not suitable, at least for starters. This is similar to how I started in the hobby. Here is what reverse lens photography can do: https://www.flickr.com/groups/reverselens/pool/. Hello! Very impressive gallery - I enjoyed looking at your nature images :...
