Well tried Lou's suggestion tonight and nope the grab button doesn't do anything, no screen grab or whatever so the mystery continues .
I like to try different apps for whatever hobby I'm into so for now I'll stick with Altami studio which is working great so thanks guys!.

Sorry John just noticed your reply. The pseudo method I use was suggested by a guy on the Amateur Microscope Facebook page. The idea is to put some clear tape on a cover slip and place this on the condenser, put the microscope into dark field (by whatever method you use) and tweak the condenser heig...

Hi folks Tried some crystals of Menthol + Malic acid and thought it interesting to compare various illumination. Pseudo-DIC menthmalicpseudodic1.jpg Pseudo + Pol menthmalicpsuedopol1.jpg Polarized + retarder menthmalicpol+ret1.jpg I think maybe the pseudo-DIC shows slightly more detail ??. Steve

New to the forum. Been trying out some different forms of illumination with my Leitz Laborlux S microscope. I've become interested in growing crystals from different chemicals.
