Re: Laowa Aurogon 10x-50x
No tripod collars on the tube seems to be a giant oversight.

Re: How Stupid Can Someone be? How about you?
I was tracking down a lens of a full set that is no longer made by the manufacture. The original price of the lens is not exactly cheap and it is rare. The seller on eBay had only a few review and located in in the middle of nowhere in Russian farmland.... And I was irrational enough to click that b...

Re: Fedex and the Lost Inspec.x L Float Lens Saga
I just bought something on eBay from the UK. Seller has to fill a form to put his passport number and my social on it. The seller understandably left it black at my request. Now I had to get through ups useless automated phone system which had no way to get to the international brokerage service and...

Re: Thorlabs SM2 or Novoflex Micro-Tube?
The release date is for us distributor. It has been available in Germany for a long time. Matter of fact I was complaining to the Germany headquarter that their us distributor is not doing a good job of listing and stocking everything the German site offers. Few weeks later here we are. I don’t have...

Re: MAG.X 8X / 0.32 LD PLAN APOCHROMATIC OBJECTIVE
Long shot but do you have anything close to 500mm TL to try? I am very curious on performance on medium format sensor which they claim to offer. I understand it is probably outside the typical parameter of your testing gears

Re: MAG.X 8X / 0.32 LD PLAN APOCHROMATIC OBJECTIVE
Did you get their tube lens system on loan too? They have a 2.25x tube lens that covers even largest medium format sensor size in their spec sheet which makes me very curious. Looking at the shape, it seems to be a PITA to mount it on third party parts...

Re: Full Frame or Medium Format?
Canon mpe didn’t work. Laowa 2x ef mount didnt work. Canon zoom and wide angle l series worked.
On the other hand, I have seen report where the failed lens above worked in S1R. So your mileage might vary.
Good luck

Re: Full Frame or Medium Format?
As someone who have handled both SL2, S1R and X1D by non trivial amount, I would say that I would say that sl2 and x1d mk2 inspire me to take photos more so than s1r, while s1r is a very feature complete camera. X1D has no IBIS and the system is generally slow with some rough edges in software, whil...

Re: Full Frame or Medium Format?
I have a Hassy x1d mk2, and tried to look into high mag solution. It gets expensive pretty quickly. First there is no one making x1d adaptors of any sort unless you adaptor down to full frame DSLR mount. Canon ef mount might be close enough. Then it is hard to find tube that is wide enough for the m...
