A Rainbow Gemstone under Polarized light

Today we looked at Kyanite mineral under polarized light. Beautiful rainbow colors appeared, and it was fascinating to see all the intricate patterns of color. The kids really enjoyed exploring this gem.

Today we explored Twix chocolate candy bar under the Microscope. It was fun to investigate and also delicious to eat :D

We didn’t see any microplastics this time so that was good.

Today we explored M&M candy and were surprised and shocked to find microplastics on them. I think they rub off from the wrapper. It’s one of my kids favorites but I don’t know if we can eat them anymore :roll: below is the full video

Today the boys and I took a look at fossilized poop or coprolite. This is ancient poop that has been preserved. Our microscope explorations are really taking us to strange and stinky corners of the universe LOL

Today we explored some beautiful samples of snowflake obsidian. My son really enjoyed looking at the spherulites. He carried around these rocks for hours afterwards lol He’s turning into a little geologist :D
