Menthol is very colorful, but as it dries, forms black filaments that take over. Have you found a way around this? Your photo shows some of the black filaments, but they are not as dominant as some of my attempts.

I've dabbled at this and tried to get the blooming effect you get. I've got quite a ways to go. You are really reaching an apex taking this type of photomicroscopy to another level. Very inspirational.
