Re: MEJIRO GENOSSEN FL0530 4.0/110 FLOAT LENS TEST IS FINALLY ONLINE

my approach is to set up the subject and adjust the ring by eye at 100% live on the camera for maximum sharpness (actually I use a display monitor) without regard to the magnification scale.

Re: MEJIRO GENOSSEN FL0530 4.0/110 FLOAT LENS TEST IS FINALLY ONLINE

the reason for the post was to show that the stepper motor on the rear standard works.. I would guess it will work (untested) with 4x5 cam also. purchased on eBay used for substantially less.. although I did buy one for more.. I have two of these. also I haven't paid more than $200 for extra bellows...

There is always a Cambo.... I have no problem with the Stackshot Stepper motor attached to the rear standard.

the Rayfact VF 90mm f/4 is no slouch and may be sharper than the Mejiro.

Re: EL Nikkor+Fujifilm GFX

Gosh, that's over a dozen lenses in the fl range 80-135mm, you say for mostly <2X. Several mounts. How do you possibly choose which to pick up? My wife has occasionally accused me of buying a lens just to test it, but . . . that's just the go-to GFX selection lenses... :) higher mag mity's for 35mm...

Re: EL Nikkor+Fujifilm GFX

if it helps and for Fuji GFX crop medium format (44mm x 33mm) ... some of my go-to machine vision/industrial lenses for macro less than 5x below (more like <2x for my use). Schneider Makro-Symmar HM 80mm f/5.6 M32x0.5 Schneider Makro-Symmar SR 80mm f/5.6 0023 V38 mount Schneider Makro-Symmar HM 120m...

Re: EL Nikkor+Fujifilm GFX

for macro any el-nikkor greater than 63mm should cover GFX, since the GFX has a 55.2mm diagonal image size. remember, these are enlarger lenses so you have to think of the size of the negative (sensor size for macro). since they are designed for negatives they are best used in reverse. I am not sure...

no matter how well packed, there is no way of knowing handling care of salvage parts previous to shipping

did you measure any issues with these lenses?

Re: Need opinions about computer for stacking with Zerene

I would recommend the Mac Studio over the Tower if you don't need the upgrade flexibility. My Studio M1 Ultra/20cpu/48gpu/64GB provides more than enough for very large stacks (300+ GFX 100s images) while simultaneously processing images in Photoshop without stressing the system.

Re: MEJIRO GENOSSEN FL0530 4.0/110 FLOAT LENS TEST IS FINALLY ONLINE

which bellows system are you using?.... 550mm extension?? I was always concerned with large bellows extension softening the image.. so for that kind of mag I use the Mitutoyo objectives. Right now I've got a Pentax 67 bellows which has a bellows draw of 350mm and a flange focal distance of 86mm - s...

Re: MEJIRO GENOSSEN FL0530 4.0/110 FLOAT LENS TEST IS FINALLY ONLINE

My float ring stops a bit beyond 3x, looking at the other markings it's probably around 3.25x or maybe 3.5x. It starts quite a bit before 0.5x, I'm thinking... 0.2x? But I'll make another test run soon, then I can see whether the ring is also correctly adjusted for 3x. My copy has the same behavior...
