Re: Calla w/Apo-Germinar

Bob, Does the Cambo XL offer fine gearing like the Cambo Actus? I have an Arca-Swiss and the focus gearing is not fine enough with the new digital wide angle lenses. I had to add a Rodenstock Modular Focus Mount to my Digaron 40mm in order to focus easily. It works but I don't want to have to add f...

Re: Micro-Symmar 3.5x

are these results to be expected based on the MTF's in the spec sheet?... the micro-symmar 3.5x when compared with the macro-symmar 5.6/80 1x show significantly reduced performance (results that is at the rated/designed magnification scale for each lens). or am I reading this incorrectly? Calla w/Apo-Germinar

Now that I have the Germinar working on the Cambo XL, I thought I would use it a bit.

Re: Micro-Symmar 3.5x

Ray, this sounds interesting, but I know nothing about it. But it is a Macro-Symmar, not Micro-Symmar. I'm surprised SK spells it "Macro" and not "Makro"..... documentation has it as Micro-Symmar 2.8/50-0002 https://www.uniforcesales.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/25-1012492-part-no.pdf which is in...

Re: Focus Stacking (using Zerene Stacker)

I have had a similar issue and I think that Rik's explanation makes logical sense to me with the downside that it is almost impossible to mitigate... in this example it is self-evident, Nikon D800E ,Mitutoyo M Plan APO 20x NA 0.42 200/0 275 stack https://pbase.com/bobfriedman/image/160296947/origina...

Re: Delphinium

so Cambo made it easy for me.. their ACXL-985 bracket is designed for a Cognisys stepper motor which I purchased separately from Cognisys, not wanting to disassemble my stackshot rail.

Re: Delphinium

Very nice, and completely free of stacking artifacts. Do you think moving the rear standard helps with that? I have the best success with the Cambo and rear standard stepper keeping the front standard lens fixed compared to moving the whole assembly on a rail.. but there are artifacts from time to ...
