Re: Wild Heerbrugg M8 Microscope Brochure

We can't host this kind of copyright protected stuff. I would suggest to put the pdf in a remote folder (dropbox, google docs...etc) and share the link privately. I understand this to a degree. Yet, there are many pages like Alan Wood's Olympus page with a huge number of these documents freely avai...

Re: Wild Heerbrugg M8 Microscope Brochure

Hi,

They are big, many megabytes so probably no chance of that.

I do think this site should have a library of scanned brochures, user manuals and repair manuals. It would benefit the community. Apparently Leica has been unkind to this type of activity but others have had a better attitude.

Hmc is OK. I have a Zeiss inverted that has the condenser and a few objectives though some of the condenser filters are a bit delaminated. I like DIC a lot better.
That was the feeling I get from what I read; HMC isn't quite the substitute for DIC.

Re: Zeiss DIC/Phase/Fluorescence microscope

I agree with wowjl and Lou Jost...and took action :D More precisely, not myself, but my university unit. I think this microscope will be extremely useful for our teaching needs on field courses and microscopy courses!

Re: Hoffman Modulation Contrast (HMC) for Leitz Orthoplan?

Pau, thanks for the clarification. It seems I went astray by reading exactly those Leica and other texts where normal objectives were used. No, neither I or her have special Hoffman objectives. Therefore, it seems that oblique illumination is the avenue of exploration. I have read that this method i...

Re: Hoffman Modulation Contrast (HMC) for Leitz Orthoplan?

I fully realize that am resurrecting a very old thread but I think the topic warrants it! Is it really so, that nobody has tried to implement Hoffman Modulation contrast for the Leitz Orthoplan? It would make sense, as Hoffman Modulation apparently can yield a kind of a similar contrast enhancement ...

Cool! If you get a chance I'd love to hear how well that corr objective works. I see that I forgot to report back in this thread. I think I did write something about this somewhere but maybe that was on another forum. Anyway, the 2x corr. seems to do what it says on the tin. I did a visual eye-test...

Re: Wild M3Z Type S and Kombistereo

They are bolted in from below iirc. Also, nice! I'm very curious about the kombistereo, not enough to get one but enough to wonder. I couldn't find anything on the exterior, including below it, screws or anything. Therefore, I suspect that the attachment screws are inside the zoom body. However, I ...

Wild M3Z Type S and Kombistereo

Hello, I would need to swap a Wild M3Z optics body from a Type S carrier (the one that provides axial option for photography) to a Wild Kombistereo carrier (the one that switches between a normal stereo objective and a Leitz compound objective). However, I can't see any apparent way how to detach th...

Re: Wild stereo photo tube, cleaning & prism removal

Edit: It seems to be nearly impossible to attach photos here...I keep getting the yellow warning triangle about too many pixels per x and y. Even though I have triple-checked those and they are below the 1000 pixel limit. What on earth is the problem here? I don't know what is going on. Please see ...

Re: Wild stereo photo tube, cleaning & prism removal

Thanks for the heads up. I think I'll leave the prism be and try reaching the optic surfaces through the chimney part.

Wild stereo photo tube, cleaning & prism removal

Hello people, I have a Wild stereo phototube that has persistent dust on the prism/lens surface which is located down the long, upward pointing "chimney" structure. I have checked and cleaned the other surfaces that were much more easily accessible. However, this one doesn't seem to clean up even wi...

Re: FS: Several good F-mount macro lenses (Voigtländer, Nikon, Kiron)

I used to have that Voigtländer 125mm Apo Lanthar years ago. It was a truly stunning piece of glass, just magnificent. Sold/swapped it long ago, though, due to not being into photography much any more.

Re: Wild stereo microscope photo setup for Nikon DSLR?

Thanks guys!

I think direct projection would be too much of a complication in this case. Maybe as a future step 2, together with a PlanApo objective, if more resolution is needed. In any case, not my decisions to make :)
