Hi Betty,

If you go this website it can tell you exactly what kind of memory you need for your computer.

http://www.crucial.com/uk/

I've bought memory from them in the past and it was always the right kind.

Hope this helps.

Hi all, Haven't contributed much of late, but I still lurk in the group from time to to time. You may be interested in my recent experience with XP and Vista. Hi Dave,

The second and third are both flies. They are usually known as Bee Mimic Flies for obvious reasons. I don't know the proper names for them, but they look similar to some I photographed back in July.

Very nice images Dave, and the sharpening looks fine to me.

Bye for now.

Hi Adrian, If you are using Photoshop CS3, there is a neat new tool in ACR 4.1 called the "Retouch Tool". This allows you to use a spot healing brush, or clone brush, on all the images you have open in ACR at the same time. You can then edit the positions the healing spots on each individual frame, ...

Hi Rik, Thanks for the pointers. I've rigged up the bodged lens fitting and it works OK. However, when the lens arrived, I noticed that the bayonet end of the lens is removable and this leaves an RMS thread on the end of the lens. I decided to try this on the temporary adaptor I made for mounting mi...

Hi Paul, Thanks for the clarification. It seems I now have a few options. I'm sure at least one of them will be successful. I'm waiting for the Araldite Epoxy to dry on the lens/body cap option at the moment. All I have to do then is cut out the centre, and I'll be able to give it a try. Bye for now.

George - You've probably already searched on 'Olympus Converter' - but if not, there seem to be several cheapish items on Ebay (in uk) at present - should you decide to go the DIY route, as this'd provide the mating fitting. Hi Paul, Thanks for the tip. I'd prefer not add any more glass into the li...

Olympus to Nikon? Are you expecting to keep infinity focus? The flange focal distance will not be the same. Why not just get a Nikon lens? Hi Epidic, I want to try connecting an Olympus bellows lens to my fine focusing system, so I just need to have the lens at the front of the light path. The only...

Borg telescopes may have such an adapter. They have a very sophisticated line of tubes and mounts. Is M42 the standard for a T-mount? If it is, then most telescope retailers will have camera mounts for those threads. Hi there, Thanks for the tip. I'll have a look at Borg's range of adaptors. I have...

Lens Adaptor For Olympus Lenses

Hi all, I'm looking for an adaptor so that I can use an Olympus OM fit lens on my system. I want to attach it to either an M42 thread or to a Nikon F mount. I seem to be having a bit of trouble locating such an adaptor. If anyone knows where I might locate an adaptor, I would appreciate some help. T...

Fly On Yellow Flowers

Hi All, I took these shots earlier today on a flowering shrub, (Brachyglottis greyii, AKA Senecio greyii), which is located just under my study window. I have no idea what kind of fly it is, but it was quite large and looked a bit like a bee. D200 - Nikon 105mm VR macro F11 @ ISO 500 on aperture pri...

Re: old comment/new question

Need to watch the glare and reflections for the sun in this one. Danny. Please excuse a new person resurrecting an old thread but your comment above suggests there is an obvious answer to a problem that troubles me greatly. How do I "watch the glare and reflections" from sun or flash. Hi Doug, You ...

Hi Rik, Thanks for you explanation. The animation certainly show some geometry changes. Some of the changes between the images are where I cloned from the source images. The area around the mouth had much more detail in the original frames than it did after the stack. Thanks for all you comments, yo...

Hi Rik, Hhmm... Looking more closely by clicking layers in Photoshop, I see substantial differences between these images. The latter two have much less flare in the dark areas of the face, and even the geometry of the reconstruction is slightly different. When I layer and align in Photoshop, then cl...
