As a reminder, Thorlabs sells adapters that go from SM1 to a wide variety of things, including Mitutoyo [M26 x 0.706(36tpi)], RMS, and many others.

Re: Mitutoyo objective clones
I'll say it again: I recommend you not attempt to order from this link.
Better to wait for my review. In this review, I'll cover some concerns that buyers should be aware of.

Re: Electronics Swap 2022
Vade retro, Satana! Since Dayton is pretty far from my part of Ohio, I'm probably safe.

Re: 3D Printing M25 Threads for Objective Cases
Aidan, I don't know if this is helpful, but I once photographed the profile of Nikon M26 (not M25) x 0.75 threads. The results are in the thread: Nikon and Mitutoyo objectives have different M26 threads Similarly, if one had a Nikon M25x0.75 objective, it would be pretty easy to determine the profil...

Re: Electronics Swap 2022
I go back and forth between wishing we had this in Ohio and fearing that perhaps we actually do, and I might find it if I looked. On one hand, it sounds like great fun. On the other, my debris field is already far too big.

Re: Thin electric focuser/helicoid?
Lou, You've no doubt considered this, but is there any reason that the linear actuator needs to be between camera and lens, rather than, say, under the lens? I'm thinking your could mount the lens on a microscope focus block, mount the camera just behind it, and make a small bag bellows to block lig...

Re: Edmund Optics article on Reflective Objectives
I expect there are integrated systems that come with these objectives already installed. What are some examples of those? I think I have such an objective. If so, it came on a derelict Biorad UMA 300 FTIR microscope that I bought for its opto-mechanical components. It's doubtful I'll ever experimen...

Re: DIY Hotshoe interface
Keith, Thanks for sharing this, as well as your other recent posts. During the past few days, I've looked to see if there exist hot shoe adapters with terminal blocks for wiring. So far, I haven't seen any. (Though there are hot shoe adapters with PC outlets; these would work, but would likely be fi...

Re: How to control a LED panel with a Stackshot Controller
This is a link on Amazon to the programmable relay module I used. The price has dropped by a few dollars since I last purchased one. I purchased several and also use them as intervalometers in time lapse and to regulate watering of terrariums. https://www.amazon.com/UCTRONICS-Programmable-Multifunc...

Re: How to control a LED panel with a Stackshot Controller
Keith, thanks for both posts. I've long been meaning to switch from continuous halogen to gated LED COBs, but have put it off. My thought was to intercept the signal from the StackShot's trigger cable, program a delay using an Arduino, then have the Arduino trigger a relay to keep the LED COBs on fo...

Re: Mitutoyo objective clones
Alrighty, I'll go off high alert since I already have the other mags covered, but this should be great news for the community. I didn't mean to cause a splash in terante1981's thread (sorry!) The lens I tested seems a bit better than my Mitutoyo of same magnification and NA (which has been tested a...
