Re: RAT RIG V-SLIDER MACRO - AXIS 25

looks fine so far, l like the large axial distance of the v-slot rollers, should make it stiff. For the spindle they state "Screw pitch: 2mm" what might be limiting for ultra fine steps <1µm. (For the price it is most probably not a ball screw spindle like in the THK KR rails but a trapezoidal threa...

Re: is there an electronic handwheel for stepper driven rails

To be fair, I would bet everyone here codes better than I do. I am not against DIY. Sorry in advance if it sounded like that, I feel like your tone was defensive which could be due to my poor wording. I prefer doing mechanical adaptations than having to code stuff with microcontrollers/Arduino etc....

Re: is there an electronic handwheel for stepper driven rails

Expensive, yes. However, they often show up for bargain prices. I use the Prior personally, I adapted it to fit my Wemacro when I need to run focus stacks and I use the original console when I simply need to operate the microscope for routine examination. I got mine for a bargain price. My advice i...

Re: is there an electronic handwheel for stepper driven rails

Thanks for the input. Yes I've seen this on commercial $$.$$$ products and hoped somebody has realised such a solution for a home-lab enviroment. Maybe someone is using a MACH CNC control software and adopted for focus bracketing. Any ideas are welcome :)

is there an electronic handwheel for stepper driven rails

Hi all, in my bracketing rig I use components from MKJZZ which do a very good job, but there is still one thing what could be much improved. It is the control of the speed of the movement. In order to run slow you have to dive into menues and selects 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 steps and further settings in order...

Re: Fun with the AstrHori 25mm

The AstrHori has some bayonet ridges on the front but the company offers nothing to use them. I do not know if the Laowa ring would fit or not. 1ahrig03.jpg .... I assume the haters that populated the other thread here stopped reading this before they started. I tried this but since you teached me ...

Re: Lens recomendation for film reproduction

Not sure if the lens I got from KEH is magical, just a mundane Nikkor 60 MM-D macro lens. I repeated again the comparison using Nikon Z6II FX camera with and without the PB-4 bellows, the results are the same. I cannot explain discordant results you are getting on your setup... Re: Lens recomendation for film reproduction

Thanks for the setup, but on theory the 60mm macro with floating elements should perform better at 1:1 when mounted via Nikon-F adapter to you camera.

You will achieve the same magnification mounted on the bellows, but do you achieve the same resolution?

Re: Caution: shipping to the USA, anti-dumping targeted at goods from China

FedEx is utter garbage. My parcel was stuck in Australia for over a month because the paperwork was not uploaded correctly by the driver. I'm afraid most of your problems are homemade. For my Nikon fine focus gears when having trouble it is with Australia.I no longer ship to Australia, they have th...

Are they really better than the standard, easily available 3M/generic flocking adhesive?
for shure in regard of fibre emission since it is a foam and does not spread small fibres like the usual flocking material.

Re: Lens recomendation for film reproduction

As someone who uses all three formats you mentioned, I would highly recommend buying at least two separate lens systems, one for MFT and one for FF+APS. The Olympus 60mm macro lens is excellent and ideal for slide copying, and then you don't need a bellows and you retain automation. This should sig...

Re: Lens recomendation for film reproduction

I cannot comment about the Noflexar 60mm since I never tested/used/owned one. If it is any help, years ago I did my own digitizing of 36x24 mm color slides with Olympus E-M1 and E-M1 II and the Olympus 60 mm f/2.8 macro. I used a legacy slide duplicator as slide holder (without optics in the duplic...

Re: Lens recomendation for film reproduction

I would like to ask a question similar to the the topic of the thread opener. For myself I also use macro lenses dedicated to my Sony camera for digitizing slides what works really well. At my Foto-Club at the University of Stuttgart there are lots of younger people who like to shoot film and we are...

Re: Lens recomendation for film reproduction

Your lens is more than sufficient for your sensor, you can stop it down to F5.6 and you won't lose any detail at 1x, 'upgrading' to a different lens most likely won't change anything. I think this is 100% correct. To be honest all those expensive Mejiro / SK Symmar, Macro Varon... on a full frame s...
