Re: Schneider macro varon 85/4.5 CAS @1x &2x

Great lens and so is the Rodenstock 105mm f5.6 FLOAT Macro that covers from 1:4 to 4:1. googling for this lens brought me to this hit: https://www.alpa.ch/en/site/when-even-insects-become-huge-macro-photography-with-alpa I like the big prints. Seems the Rodenstock Macro Switar 5.6/105 mm is a "hell...

Re: Moisture in my Raynox lens. Suggestions?

What you want may be doable. It depends on how far you want to cut the housing. See https://www.photomacrography.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=186594#p186594 and my post two up from that , for some more information about inner structure of the Raynox DCR-250. I'm guessing that the DCR-150 is the same. ...

Re: Laowa 25mm F2.8 Ultra-Macro Technical Analysis

just a question, if the lens could be placed more narrow to the sensor of a mirrorless camera would it still cover full frame at smaller magnification? If yes, with a special adaptation the gap between 1:1 from "normal" macro lenses and 2,5x (start of unmodiefied Laowa) could be closed. Or will it s...

Re: Moisture in my Raynox lens. Suggestions?

you could rinse it in pure alcohole in order to dillute/wash off the dirt water. But for such a lens that might not be worth the effort. I just finished a tube setup for the Mitutoyo lenses I have and was thinking off cutting out the dcr-150 lens in order to insert it in a custom setup without the n...

Re: Thorlabs ITL200 adapters help needed

It can't be adjusted very well. That's why I said they should make these longer adjustable tubes. It does work for ITL200. If you subtract the typical DSLR (45mm, 46mm types) flange distance from the setups (148mm recommended or 245mm retro), you get either 100mm or 200mm. You're focusing the ITL20...

What are the dimensions of the rail? I assume those are not standard Arca clamps, right?

Re: Newport Damped Optical Posts

here a sample of the Thorlabs 66mm rail, with an Arca double clamp everything can be attached. They also provide a single dovetail rail thick enough for the head of M4 hex srews or threads.

Re: Large format macro tests

No. I'm comparing equal fields of view in single optical images. In one case, the optical image is 5 inches across, made by a large format lens, and in the other case, the same field of view is contained in an optical image 36mm across made with a modern macro lens designed for small sensors. The i...

Re: Large format macro tests

I am not sure whether I understood this. You used the Mamiya lens at 1:1, took a stitched photo of an object bigger than your sensor and compared this to a single shot at a magnification smaller then m=1 :-k

Re: Newport Damped Optical Posts

Hey Lothar, that's a great looking setup. The prices do not seem too bad either. Are the dovetails of the same specifications as Arca-Clamp dovetails, or is it more that they work well enough together? If they work perfectly together, that is a huge benefit. If I had not already bought an optical p...
