Re: Q: RAM and SSD PC upgrade for Photoshop stacking

Hi Jac,
Both :-), because you have only a small 250GB SSD (probably with Windows).

Re: Q: RAM and SSD PC upgrade for Photoshop stacking

Hi Jac, I don’t recommend anything but I only can describe my workflow: - taking of the photographs in RAW - developing and conversion of the RAW-files into the TIFF 16 bit by LR - calculation of the stack by Zerene - final retouching by PS / Topaz - resizing for the WEB by WebSharpener BTW, your PC...

Re: Q: RAM and SSD PC upgrade for Photoshop stacking

Hi Jac, As far as I can see you don’t have any problem with your PC but with PS :-) PS is really good for the retouching but not for the stacking. You can download and test Zerene Stacker (or Helicon Focus) and check your PC. BTW, I have already calculated with Zerene stacks based on more than 1500 ...

Re: Q: RAM and SSD PC upgrade for Photoshop stacking

Hi Jac,
Do you have any problem with the performance of the stacking of the 300 shots a 10MB ?
BTW, PS is not the best software for the stacking!

Re: How to increase the performance of Lightroom?

Hello Chris, I use the (last not abo) version 6.14 of the Lightroom. Yes, I have been looking for the best/optimal settings. e.g. - Real memory available to Lightroom - Real memory used by Lightroom - Virtual memory used by Lightroom The sysinfo of LR shows the following values: Lightroom version: 6...

Re: How to increase the performance of Lightroom?

Hello Dennis,
Because the raw-module of the LR 6.14 doesn’t support the CR3 of the M6M2 :-(

Re: How to increase the performance of Lightroom?

Hi Steve, Yes, the size of my CR3-file = 32MB. But I have to convert the CR3-files to the DNG first (the size of the DNG = 30MB). The performance of the Adobe DNG-converter is excellent :-) Then I convert using LR the DNG into the TIFF (the size of the TIFF = 184MB). BTW, I can set the priority of t...

How to increase the performance of Lightroom?

Hello everybody,
Does anybody know how to increase the performance of the Lightroom 6 (last not abo) ?
The conversion of the 999 files to the TIFF takes over two hours (Ryzen 9 & 128GB RAM & M2-SSD) :-(
Thank you in advance.

Re: flower

Hello Klevin, Yes, this picture has been taken in the garden. Mostly I use DMap from Zerene Stacker. I have already taken some stacks using the internal focus-bracketing of the M6M2 based on 999 single shots and step-size 1 e.g. https://www.photomacrography.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=42064 BR, ADi
