I think the plastic was nylon, it was just an odd piece I had in the workshop.

Modified coupling to fit plastic bush tapered bush so it is just a push fit. I found with the bolts every time I wanted to carry out a manual adjustment it had to be unbolted now it just a push fit.

Photo Stacking System

Spend the day in the workshop building a motorised stacking system for the Olympus microscope using T-Slot aluminium and machining a coupling and mounting plate. The control will be via a Wemarco system. I am just waiting for the nylon clamping bolts to replace the stainless steel ones. 20210209_153...

Olympus BH-2 (BHS) LED Conversion

I was considering upgrading my Olympus BHS microscope to led. I found this unit on eBay, but was interested if anybody had done this and what are the advantages and disadvantages.
Are there any other units on the market?

Just finished making the camera adapter. I am using a Helicoid Adapter,M42 to M42 so the length can be varied. It seem to work OK, just need to fine tune it. Stacking System

Just finished fitting a Trinamic stepper motor to my rig, controlled by Helicon remote software. I normally use a Wemacro rail, but at higher magnification 20x I find there is too much movement with the setup and this system seems to work better.

Hi Dave
light 6w LED, Polarising Linear sheet mounted in a filter housing, a piece of CD case. sample on glass slide, second piece of Polarising Linear sheet above the objective, Rayox 150 in reverse, wemacro tube and then the camera.

Decided to try crystal photography using my camera and stacking rig. Chemicals are Borax, Panadol tablets, Rodinal developer at x20 & x40 magnification. Between 4 and 8 stacked images.
